City Project 2010 - Day 3- Wednesday
Wednesday, July 21, 2010 Progress, progress, progress! It was perhaps the hottest day yet, but the many hands made for lighter work. We had a great group of hard working Christ Covenant Family and Friends. Best turnout for help yet. If we continue at this pace, we may be able to complete all of the open work by the end of the day on Friday, leaving some general clean up for Saturday morning. But I am getting ahead of myself. One thing that should receive some attention and thanks today is the great time we have had each day at lunch. We wrap up work about 10 to Noon and walk or drive over to the church office where Karol Barber, Emily Brankstone, Britt Emerson, Hillary Hale, and others have been serving us all by providing a wonderful meal on the square. We spend the lunch hour getting refreshed and catching up on the events of the week. Our City Project home continues to be a challenge, but the Lord is kind and is meeting our needs. The exterior work is getting close to comlpletion with a lot of clean up left to go. On the inside, the team of Wynne Cox and Rab Edwards helped move the dismantled kitchen towards restoration. Still a little ways to go, but we press on asking the Lord to strenghen our hands for the work. Puppets and Popsicles continues with about a dozen children a day hearing the stories of Scripture that mean so much to the covenant family of God. Please pray for continued health of the workers, continued progress on site, and for opportunities to build lasting relationships with Dorothy and her family. Remember our goals for the week: Do everything in the name of the Lord Give to those in need without destroying their dignity Developing future leaders for similar work
