City Project 2010 - Day 2- Tuesday

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Another day of good progress on Dorothy Malone's home.  The day started with the Word of God as Kevin Wilkins reminded us that God works in the everday issues of life.  We certainly are prone to think that God is moving us towards a moment of overwhelming importance, and yet, He is working even now in the seemingly mundane details of the day.  As City Project is in full swing, the truth of God working as we work on trash pickup, or sanding a wall is a wonderful reminder of His providential care.

Today, the work progressed as the front porch repair is coming to a close, and  the interior work is reaching the turning point of looking for the end of the tunnel.  And then we tore open the kitchen floor, only to realize that we are in need of extra help!

As the work progressed, the team of Youth, Children, and leaders had a good turn out for Puppets and Popsicles.  As I passed chuldren on the street, seeking to invite them to the evangelistic outreach of the covenant children of Christ Covenant Church, they replied with "we already know about it, we are going to be there!"  In addition, several of the youth leaders were able to work on projects at the church building as well.  They continued to give fans to the neighbors and encourage the people of Dorothy's neighborhood to come and see that the Lord is good.

A few more pictures are posted as well.  Take a look.  And then consider coming to help us if you can.  May the Lord be honored as we seek to point others to Him.
