City Project 2010 - Day 1 - MondayGod's treasure. That is how the day started. We were led into the word of God with the thought that God treasures his people as kings treasure their great sources of wealth. And yet, we are not valuable because of anything in us; we are considered valuable because God has covenanted with us to be His people, and He will be our God. From there, we were off to the site. Ms. Dorothy, our City Project recipient was very excited to see us, and we were ready to get going. A few highlights: Robert, Scott, Clint, Charlie, Brian, with some help from a few others throughout the day made MAJOR progress on the front porch and the side deck. Terry, Shannon, Seth, Kendall, Ben, Lindsley, and others worked on getting things started inside. Daniel, Kathy, Victoria, and all of the middles schooler and munchkins were able to give out some fans to the neighbors, work in the community garden, and enjoy the sun throughout the day. They are getting ready to share Christ's love through Puppets and Popsicles later this week. Karol, Emily, and many others helped prepare a fantastic lunch for the team. What a great time together! Can't forget all those who brought materials and equipment for the week of City Project. Thanks very much for all you have done to get us started off well. We are underway!! Come join us when you can. We had special guests in Chip Hatcher (Pastor of First Prez, Hernando), Robert Browning (Pastor of Christ Prez, Olive Branch), and Larry, a friend and encourager from Riveroaks. |
